Canterbury Consulting hosts the event each year for its endowment, foundation, healthcare, and family clients. Prominent experts provide exclusive forecasts and insights on critical topics and offer clients a rare opportunity to network with organizations that share similar investment challenges and goals. This year's forum will focus on investment themes, the state of healthcare, and the latest trends in philanthropy.
Jim Paulsen, Ph.D., chief investment strategist of The Leuthold Group, will present on the macroeconomic outlook for 2018. Paulsen is nationally recognized for his views on the economy and frequently appears on CNBC and Bloomberg Television. He has been named a top economic forecaster by Business Week, and Money Magazine called his newsletter one of "101 Things Every Investor Should Know."
Attendees will hear insights during the panel discussion, Opportunities in U.S. Equities, including Chris D. Wallis, CFA, CPA, CEO, CIO, and senior portfolio manager of Vaughan Nelson Investment Management; Paul Bouchey, CFA, CIO of Parametric Portfolio Associates; and Michael Hunstad, senior vice president and director of quantitative research at Northern Trust Asset Management.
An additional panel discussion, Opportunities in Credit, will feature co-founder and managing principal at Centerbridge Partners, Jeffrey H. Aronson; chief investment officer of fixed income for The TCW Group, Tad Rivelle; and managing director of Crescent Capital Group, John A. Fekete.
The current state of healthcare will be the subject of the presentation given by Howard Federoff, M.D., Ph.D., vice chancellor for health affairs at University of California, Irvine (UCI), and CEO of the UCI Health System. He has published more than 250 peer-reviewed and invited articles and currently serves on the editorial boards of five journals. He is a nationally renowned clinical and research leader, and Dr. Federoff's research led to a new gene-therapy trial for Parkinson's disease, and to a new test for predicting the onset of Alzheimer's disease.
Paul Schulz, vice president of development and donor relations for the California Community Foundation, will discuss trends in philanthropy for forum participants.
